Interesting- -I'd feel a lot more god-like if there weren't so many of us. I vote we get it down to a reasonable number, asap. lol
I like your poem, and you ended it superbly.

Decrease the surplus population? : -) If we got the number down to where it felt special, there wouldn't be enough people left to do all the jobs that need to be done to support the infrastructure. lol

That's a beautiful poem. Your best Tanka that I've read. Saving it.... (Report) Reply

Thank you, Pamela. I really like this form. Some people don't care for this or Haiku and prefer the graceful rhyming poem that is delightful to be spoken and heard.

As part of the most advanced species on the planet, we should all know how special that makes each of us

Walking Gods aren't we all, just one amongst a billion.. learning technicalities and spirit of Tanka from these wise cerebral outpourings. thanks. (Report) Reply

Thank you, Seema. The switch at the end is what I like. In this case, the beginning builds us up as gods, the end tells us that we are all equal. One god should treat all others with peace and love

We are special among all the life on Earth, gods in a way over all else, ans there are over seven billion of us
