Steal This Poem - Poem by Brian Mayo

Here’s a poem for you to steal
Just take it; don’t be shy
I’m sure the man who wrote it has
An adequate supply.

It’s just the poem you’re looking for-
Amusing and succinct
Yet bad enough for people to
Believe it’s one you inked.

You simply highlight all the text
And copy with one click
Then paste it anywhere you want
It’s really just that quick.

Don’t stop now; just one more step
And then this poem you’ll claim
It’s really just a little thing…
You’ve got to sign your name.

Fabulous poem. True art challenges its audience to think, and occasionally inspires other artists to create. It inspired I Stole This Poem, my silly little answer or continuation, but the singularity and original idea belongs to Brian.... or his victim! (Report) Reply

Brian ... considering the high quality of your general comment throughout this site I am moved to trust your integrity and therefore henceforth and forthwith (: harrumph) give you the right to use any of my limericks where you see fit
on this site. (I could certainly use the publicity and I too welcome comments) I am just now finding how to read the latest efforts of some of my favourite people. I am suspecting that some of the readers do not understand the use of the rating table and thus simply do not use it. The polite use of the ten is nice but you don't know whether your work is improving (Unless, of course, it is perfect and beyond criticism like all of mine)
Today I started my bitching and groaning to management about the constant mis-reading of wrong verification code. Being a scrupulously honest person.... oops my wife says knock it off ta Old Dad

I steal my poems from God herself
the good ones come from her top shelf!

I rewrite them and keep all laughing
    the busy part is autographing!

I changed your poem again on my page and challenged others to steal it and to write about opossums! ! (Report) Reply

It doesn't have to be about opossums, Pamela; I'm flexible- -As long as there's a member of the marsupial family mentioned in there somewhere I'll be happy.
