golden almond eyes
savage beauty in striped coat
one of few - survives.

You became good looking,
thinner, taller.

Spring, days lengthening and warming slowly
green shoots daffodils and gambolling lambs.
Summer, sunny and hot lazing in deckchairs
rambling roses blooming strawberries and cream.

It's here where the land meets the sea,
flat, wilderness, desolate in it's beauty.
Pebble-dash shingle, stretches, runs free
for miles and miles.

I stare in the mirror
seeing ravages on my face,
was I young once?

Looking on into the world,
withdrawn from its enticements.
Stand outside in another place,
silent, meditating.
...

Make a room a sanctuary,
a place of inner peace.
Blending colours to tranquilise
bringing quiet to your soul.

Mind in turmoil
Helplessness
Over-burdened
Ladened stress.

A slow line of donkeys crosses the wasteland
with hooded vultures riding on their bare backs.
Grey smoke rises from fierce flames burning in random fires.
Bleached bones of animals litter the decaying earth.
