Stuck - Poem by Anna Dietze

Every step I take
The earth crumbles beneath my feet
Water turns to sand
Light turns to dark
Life turns to death
Everything I touch turns to rubble
Destructible
Hurtful
Full of pain
Tears stream down
I fall to my knees, crying
The earth swallows me whole
I tumble to hell
Where my new home is
Or should be
Forever trapped
I scream but nothing comes out
No way to save me
I’m stuck

Anna, excellent how the poem develops and builds in intensity with no wasted words or lines! Good write! !
