[ Subservience ] Poem by Garathe Den

[ Subservience ]

If money rules the world
We burn money
Instead of being held
To the notion it means something
Instead of being programmed
Indoctrinated and numbing
A slave that worships wage
For a nation of nothing

An empire of violence
Death and destruction
Soldiers made martyrs
To the thrones of corruption
Praised for their actions
A sacrifice in conjunction
For power and greed
Control and seduction

Citizens ready
To turn against their neighbors
In support of a law
That draws the State's favor
That steals away freedom
All strategically tailored
To step into the role
As humanity's savior

Parading as valiant
To be marveled in sight
Just a show of a force
To seem the greatest in might
Rising in power
Fully in flight
Wings separated
To reach far greater heights

Sending bombs sailing
Upon those who oppose
Pillaging lands
For the sake of control
While we pledge allegiance
To the seeds that they sow
Pretending we're righteous
While we all decompose

Eroding our morals
Our conscience devoid
Of care and compassion
We are all unemployed
We are all just a poly
Factions decoyed
A cheap, worthless resource
For the State to exploit

That is our future
The path we have chosen
The rejection of love
Embracing hate as devotion
A vague sacrifice
To be slaughtered and broken
A pitiful speck
To be wiped without notion

For you would not separate
Your life from the State
And you've given to Caesar
Yourself as a slave
With unquestioned faith
To a system of shame
Becoming the vile
In subservience to the grave
