Suezy And You - Poem by Barry Conway

SUEZY AND YOU

WE BOTH DESERVE SOMEONE NICE,
SUEZY KNEW!
HER DESIRE CAME THROUGH.
THE FLAMES THAT BURN DOWN THE GATES,
BURNING,
THE ELUSIVE SPARK,
AGED WITH RESIGNATION,
THE UNFOUND,
FROM THE UNKNOWN,
IMPERCEIVABLE TO THE WRONGED,
LESSONS IN TIME,
DILUTING THE SEARCH,
IN THE EXPERIENCE OF THE SEARCH.

TO DWELL ON THE PAST,
IS TO PLAY THE LOSING GAME,
ENSLAVING THOSE,
WHOSE WEIGHT DRAGS UPON THEM,
IN CONSTANT NIGHT.

TWO SELF EFFACING WISHES,
WHERE THE PROMISE OF LOVE,
IS MISWRITTEN UPON THE PAGE,
OF THE BOOK,
THAT HAS BEEN MISPLACED,
ON THE SHELF.
WHO WILL FIND THE BOOK AGAIN?
BLOW AWAY THE PAST,
OVERCOME THE INSECURITIES,
TO PEER WITHIN,
TO ONE AGAIN,
READ THE WORDS OF LOVE.
