Suitable Domain Poem by Courtney Kane

Suitable Domain

Rating: 2.7

The night which
envelopes sounds
like the whole
of crickets turning
in their creaking noises
makes one think of first-love
nights, in the arms of
a new one, locked like trees
where we are as one branch
tightly bound, nature upon nature
thinking the same thoughts
touching the same essence,
being the same being,
transluscent beyond
our human skins
as we remember why we are here
and why we have become as one
tree, finding the forest a
suitable domain for us.

A beautiful, flowing poem...I kept reading and wanting MORE! ! But, came the ending lines, so intricately entwined with the forest, I had to end reading...but not admiring, this work! ! Excellence is not the correct word...feeling 'at one' with this poem may be a higher praise. It takes a word mistress to do what you do, Courtney! ! ! xxElysabeth
