Sulamiths Sang paa Bjergene - Poem by Bernhard Severin Ingemann

I spørge mig om min Elskedes Navn
Og hvorfor min Ven er bortgangen.
I spørge: hvorhen han veeg fra min Favn -
I vil søge ham med mig. I prise min Skjønhed i Sangen.

O! stolt er hans Ry, og herligt hans Navn -
I sin Have er han nedgangen;
Der hviler han sig i Balsambedfavn -
Men paa Tigerens Bjerg vil jeg prise hans Troskab i Sangen.

Jeg har ham endnu. Jeg har ham jo her:
Fra min Sjæl hans Billed ei viger;
Min Elskedes Sjæl har evig mig kjær -
— Hvorfor seer I saa paa mig? hvi græder I? Libanons Piger!
