Sweet Afternoon Kisses - Poem by Michael P. McParland
On an afternoon where I'm so very tired
and have had to be on the phone
dealing with frustrating doctors
I wish that now that part's over
I could just sit with you relaxing
snuggling so very tightly,
sharing kisses of deep comfort to chase away the stresses.
I just want to be with you to forget
the world that gives me chills.
I want to be with the Angel who cures the pain I feel.
Sweet afternoon kisses are what would heal my heart,
sweet kisses with the Queen and Angel
who truly listen and understand.
Holding my sweet lady that helps me forget the world,
the sweet lady on whose shoulder I could cry.
I love you oh my Angel and I wish that I was with you,
life seems to be more impossible each and everyday.
I just want to be with you and relax this afternoon.
I just want to be with you to hold and give all my sweet love,
I just want to be in your arms and know that it's alright.
I just want to look at you and say thank you dear
I truly love you so, then give the sweetest kiss
a man could ever give the Angel that he loves.
I love you dear and want to hold you near
to feel peace and forget the world.
You are everything and the cure for this hurtful world.
