Taking Your Hands (I Am With You Dear) - Poem by Michael P. McParland
Sweet one be filled with strength
as I dry your tears and then take your hands.
I'll just pull you up close by me
so I can kiss your soft cheeks and forehead
and then your weary eyes that
are hurting tired from all of
the lonely and aching crying.
I'm taking your hands in mine
to let you know I'm there with you
and to show my support
and give you my warmth and love.
I'm taking your hands to give you peace.
I love you deeply and care for you more
than anything there is anywhere.
I want you to know that you're not alone
because I will stand with you
as the man who loves you
and will fight for and protect you
no matter the situation.
I want to show you that I will stick by you
because you are so dear and amazing.
I adore you my sweet precious Angel.
Be filled with peaceful warmth
as I take your hands gently yet firmly
and look lovingly in your eyes as I say
I love you sweet lady and I'll
never leave and abandon you.
I couldn't live with myself crushing
such a beautiful heart as yours,
and I can't live without you because you are my one.
Being away from you is literal pain.
I am taking your hands in mine
my sweet and pulling you in for a kiss of
deep and true love from my very heart and soul
then I will just hold you so long
and so very tight.
Just let us take in the comfort of being
with one another finally in each others arms
just basking in the glow and joy
of the bond that we share that's so filled with love.
I'm taking your hands in mine because
I love you my sweet Angel dove.
I want to be with you and show you great love,
I want to spend time with you every day.
I want to show you how important you are to me.
You truly are my sweet Angel and everything.
