Teach Me - Poem by Lynzi Berner

Teach me to be cold!
I cried into the night
my bleeding heart
begging to be frozen
in the winds chilling grip

Teach me to be shallow!
I cried to the waters
my shattered soul
longing to be released
into the crashing tide

Teach me to be unmoving!
I cried to the mountains
my crumbling sanity
pleading to be as
steadfast as the stones core

Teach me to forget!
I cried to the sand
my broken life
screamed to the beach
watching each grain lose itself
in the silent waves
