Temptation - Poem by Nikohl Egan

temptation for me
is like a fish to the sea
the harder i swim, the faster i drowned
why cant i just find solid ground?

i can pray and read all night
but temptations still there with a hard bite
the sins i once made are calling again
begging me to come back in

so the one thing i ask
is that someone come free me at last
hold me and keep the sins away
help me keep past demons at bay

i can win this with a fight
im already trying with all my might
all i ask as i kneal to pray
is Lord help me keep Satan away
