Thank God No One Can Read My Mind - Poem by Mugdha Khedkar
Thank God no one can read my mind,
or they would know, it is one of a kind.
When I smile, it hides tears,
When I am firm, it hides fears.
When I cry, it hides questions,
When worried, it consoles my concerns.
It hides secrets which I come to know (as entertainment) ,
which soon become something more than they are meant.
It hides a huge world of my creation,
inhabited by my thoughts and imagination.
It hides something far from reality,
if someone reads my mind, he will see.
It all remains hidden,
as if forbidden,
to let the real world know,
my inner fears and woes...
Thank god no one can hear the song my mind sings,
the flight it takes knowing it has no wings.
Thank god no one can read the verses (it writes on its own) ,
all the words it speaks all alone.
Thank god no one can read the book it writes,
the arguments made when it with itself fights.
Thank god no one can hear the promises it makes,
the dreams it sees while still awake.
Thank god no one can peep inside,
and see the world that in it resides.
I want this strange world to be mine,
Thank god no one can read my mind...
