Thank You - Poem by dolan murphy

the geography of your body taunts my eyes
the expression of substance
i wanna explore the skin of the earth
your skin, like the color of honey
thank you for the electricity in your laughter
thank you for your walk, your posture, the way you sit still
thank you for your energy that you carry from a thousand forests
thank you for the cluster of fruit that is you
how do you answer the oceans questions
have you ever walked down a cobblestone street
have you ever danced in the middle of spring
my body stops and yields to your movement and your charged eyes
from your touch and the arch of your back and your wonderful freckles, sprinkled like almond shells.
the climbing, the blood moving quicker, explodes against an island
im drunk still with the taste of your skin in my mouth, the auction of my thoughts
i wish they would fall like ashes
so beautiful, untouched, please sing the world your song
from your eye lashes and behind your smile dawn breaks
please let me watch you touching flowers
please let me watch you feel their morning dew
please let me watch you pause and study the moment
thank you for giving beauty its charm
thank you for giving me an experience to care for you
please let all revel in your splendor
ill never forget the seduction that is you
ill never forget watchin you so gently sleeping at dawn
my curious lips still search for yours
how are you so wonderfully pronounced so full of fire
groves of rubies fall from your hair
you gave me the awareness of beauty and truth
