The Barking Dog Inside Your Mind Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Barking Dog Inside Your Mind

it must be noisy
inside your mind
as you complain
about the barking
dog barking all
day long in your
lifetime,

and it must be
also unfair if
as you feel it,
you are always
the wrong tree
being barked
at,

so you are the
tree wronged
and i, this human
being writing
some lines for
a conversation,
shall always be
that barking dog
inside your
mind.

let us talk
let us exchange
places, or let us
settle for a little
compromise,
there is no dog,
and there is no
wrong tree,

onthe very first day
next year
at the very first hour,
let us talk,
as new friends,
let us begin again
as strangers
in a new place
wanting to know
what each street
is named after.
