The Battle (Story-Like) Poem by Charlie Helms

In the battle of Love and War,
The weary soldier fights his last battle.
As he draws his sword against the brigade
He suddenly realizes he is all alone.

He begins to Panic
Wondering if he should fight
To find his true love or
To run as the others did.

He chooses to Fight the many men
Who want to stop him in his tracks
He stomps forward raising his sword
Signaling he is ready to fight.

The Enimies Laugh at him standing alone
He runs at the pack
Swinging the sword
Slaughtering the men in between him and his Love.

He is Attacked, as he fights back
The hordes of evil.
Then behind him he sees an Alli of his

Once the Alli is close enough
He Stabs the soldier in the back
The soldier gets up pulls the sword out of his backbone
And tosses it away.
He shakes off and continues the battle

As he battles the many men in front of him
He saw the other side of the battle field and
Began to run there

Once he got there
He saw the Kingdom
Where His Love resides

As He walked up
The Guards stopped him and
Said that he was not allowed into the Castle.

Because the King
Does not Accept the relationship
between the man and the one he loves.

So the man is stuck
in the predicament he's in
And doesn't know what to do.
