*the Best Way To Make Love (1.01) - Poem by A Waltz For Zizi

I stumble in my dreams
on you
as some form of sinning.
It never ends. You seem to be
some form of art, the only
form of art that's
appealing to my soul.

It's not just your presence.
Sometimes I find
only footprints
going in and out
of my pages,
underneath the door
(Am I going insane?)

And then there are
the good dreams
where pirates
are sailing
in bottles of wine
between your breasts,
singing silly songs
of love
and carrying
love letters
in barrels
from my lips
to yours.
But they never reach
that far.
They drown
in the drips of sweat
rolling down your neck.
They aren't
as smart
as they were.
They fell in love
as I have too.

I never know what to say,
what words fit better
what would make you kiss me.
I've tried to pull them out,
but my mouth is a dry
deserted place.
For a while
I turned to others
to the real poets
the famed
the acknowledged
the dead,
but sadly
they don't care,
they have...
they had
their own dreams.

I think that maybe
and writing poems
is not the best way
to make love.

Love your style of writing, your poem seems to start out as a seed just planted, grows and blossoms into a beautiful bouquet of reasoning. Very well written. Your imagery is superb, as is your rhythm. Thank you for sharing, you do have a way with words. Like this one very much. RoseAnn (Report)Reply
