The Cat With Nine Lives - Poem by Animashaun Alameen
As the bandit wind sneak into our room to inject us with uncozy wind,
We cuddle our pillow of distress with overgrown limbs.
Our ancient soul immunized against all odds and grind
We are cats with nine lives, familiar with treatment of grim.
As we return to our rooms shared with mice and lice,
We lie but woke, awoke by the silent cry of the creaking night.
We cry for light but know not our rights
We are blind to our dome, but can't we see the whites? ? ? .
As we sell our rights in placards of change and power
our friendly foe soar higher and higher.
We sell our future for a grinning tin of per-boiled rice
Our future is gone- it's been consumed by lice.
We are cats with nine blazing lives
We still live a world of despair, fathered by strive.
We die and die only to come back to this jolly sad life
Where lie the messiah who will save us from our next life? ? ? .
