The Day I Looked Into Your Eyes... - Poem by Jeffery Doute

I saw a flash of my future,
so clear and bright
I could not look away.

I saw a glimpse of who I really was
for the first time,
so pure and innocent,
it made me want to cry.

I saw my purpose and destiny
all in one breath.
I saw the secret parts of me
I've never shared with anyone.

I saw my past forgiven,
the two of us dancing
in another time and place,
the face of my heart
smiling back at me...

... because the day I looked into your eyes
is the day I fell in love forever.
