The Dead Bodies Did It All - Poem by Manpreet Singh
Saw a picture of few soldiers dead in war,
their dead bodies talking with each other,
smiling, cracking jokes over a cup of coffee,
same colour of soul but different colours of uniforms.
Asking each other about the countries they fought for;
sharing smiles, griefs, people problems and childhood stories and lullabies, famliy photos, mum dad children, loved ones;
all were same both the side.
Humanity made me them fly with their loved dreams,
saw a new and bright morning rising around the cliffs,
Humanity made them swim across the God's sea of wonders;
suddenly smell of gunpowder, sounds of bullets grounded them to the reality.
Enemity made them dead, and the death make them realize oneness
the things they couldn't do while alive,
the dead bodies did it all.
