You grab the paper,
I'll watch the tube,
Please! Pray tell,
Is anything new?

Who's the victim?
How did he die?
Those vicious gangs,
Always a bad guy.

How are the ratings?
Are they near the top?
Need more reporters,
To interview that cop.

Ten seconds to airtime,
Check makeup and hair,
Make sure, her cleavage,
Will attract, all the stare.

Lights, camera, action,
As the stories unfold,
Is it fact, or fiction?
Who cares? It's been told.

Tune in much later,
For more breaking news;
As the story's left hanging,
On The Evening, Snooze.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Humans seem to thrive on knowing everything that is going on, the media has made this possible through newspapers, magazines and the television. It probably isn't such a bad thing if there was better news but most of the time it has some negative connotations with it, which in turn leaves us with a negative attitude. I tend to use this time in more relaxing manner, by taking a nap during-
