The Eyes Of A Child

you can see a lot in the eyes of a child
even when the child grows up
you can still see all the child saw
in his or her eyes
so those eyes told a lot in their youth
they tell a lot now
they’ve covered many a mile
laughed many a laugh
cried many a river
i’m sure
those eyes still tell the same story
now as they did back then
