The Fairytale Princess - Poem by Sathish Shanmugam
One glimpse is enough to send waves of chills into my nerves
Neither for the first time nor for a couple more but
For every time i open my eyes
And for every time i close
Every time when a new full moon comes with pride i say
'I challenge thee to this dame i set my eyes on
A princess whose sheer beauty will make you fade away'
And before she realized that she was caught up in envy, was the moon gone.
Like an eight year old girl jumping and running around
Dancing with a mischievous smile for ruling the world
A realm not by force or control is it bound
But of hope and warmth and of cuteness untold
I remember seeing her under the lovely showers of the sky
She was standing right there smiling at me
Knowing i would enjoy every dropp of the rain
Little did she know i enjoyed her smile even more
I can't wait to see her again
To tell her that when i woke up from my dream
I saw her playin'
To tell her that I was still in that very same dream
The dream of the Fairytale princess
