The First Time - Poem by Glenn Grabbe
The day we met the time stood still
As I gazed into your eyes.
A fortune's chance and chance fulfilled
My lucky sweet surprise.
I felt within me something move
That caused my heart to sing
And cooing just like a dove
My soul took flight with wings.
That night we danced a musical score
That brought us close together.
As you glided across the floor
You were lighter than a feather.
Some magic was in the air
That warm and gentle night.
I walked you home without a care
That all was going right.
At your door I turned to you
And the best part of this
Was when I found a love that's true
In our very first kiss.
