The Forever Ones - Poem by Tariq Alkaritty

Forever - lying in infinity's memorial
Is the longevity most crave for
However, life is all about living
Not a damsel's shot at dreaming
Of longings only slaked by a prince -
Conferred from the genie's wish list:
It is the reality when one is sleepless.

Forever are the dreams that haunt us
So numerous like the stars that daunt us
Yet, colder than the realities that clothe us
That stream down, like a river that froze up
And eventually, all hope dries up
In a place, where no sun ever comes up
For no new dawns, visit the sound ones there.

A sound here, a sound there - a fresh buzz
One soul lights up and another follows suit
The chuckles from love, do battle
Forever, the door not yet unlocked:
Or, is theirs just an etching on stone?
But for any two hearts that beat as one
Theirs is a forever that withers storms.
