Altruism will not be shown out, wherever selfishness doesn't exist. What matters is, how much of this or that. Nice writing. Thanks for sharing. (Report) Reply

This is what most of the males are like. Dominant and arrogant. Your annoyance is understandable. Nice poem (Report) Reply

Some so-called friends are like that. Just bubbling cauldrons fn neuronic pulsations misfiring. (Report) Reply

Intensity of exposing passion becomes sometime perverse, but no other way of making oneself other than animal while in love. Actually intensity is the degree of achieving nearness and that tends to cutting someones head off the body or the brain of someones head! .... Expression is unique. (Report) Reply

That is symptomatic of male chauvinism. Males want an upper hand in everything they do including love. They wouldn't like to be questioned. Thanks for a powerful comment against this lack of sensitivity. (Report) Reply

    I love you, I said.
    That's very nice, he said
    I like to be loved,
    that makes me happy.

The love of a true friend.... nice poem....

Be wary of anyone whose imagination only goes so far as to use the word nice. Also anyone who thinks that hands are useless.

Humming 'You've Got a Friend.' Thinking this is probably an older Marge Piercy poem, like that song.
