The Incorporeal Guide Poem by Kishor Kumar Mishra

The Incorporeal Guide

Rating: 5.0

As soon as the dusk vanished away,
The moon peeped from opposite sky.
The slow steps started moving fast,
To cross the woods that ghosts haunt.

I was following my shadow, that
Was commanding me to speed up
Through all trees and creepers
And step on to the paddy fields.

Deep in the woods, I met this beauty.
Synchronizing her feet, guiding me
With scary eyes and close contact
Through the faint-lit haunted forest.

Soundless were her quicker steps,
Faint was her half-clad attires,
Her shadow was not there to follow,
And bare legs not touched the low.

Soon past the deep woods behind me,
The damsel was no more to be seen,
The queer still haunts in my mind,
Was an incorporeal my lovely guide?
