...The Kiss... Poem by Cate Ashlee

...The Kiss...

Rating: 4.0

In the silent deep of many nights she comes
Kneel upon GOD’s glory she cries
For His mercy to heed a yearning she’s been had
Of a man whose heart yearns same as she does.

In the morning of the first day, he came as a surprise
Unable to recognize the gift she once had asked
Such beauty in one’s soul and heart as it might
Appearing in a phantom of her eyes he begot.

In the evening of the second day, she has found
The love she longs for to have, has arrived
In a touch filled with passion yearning to be had
A light caress would then leave her in dark.

In the mid of the third day she then would find
Herself with his yearning able to give but not
A desire for a kiss filling for each, has sprout
Wanting to reveal the passion they both have.

In the midst of each kiss, her eyes shut
In her head only was a man she prayed to have
And in that moment of bliss, a cry in her heart arise
Denying its power of what both could not let pass.

In the dusk of the fourth day, a leap shall come
In bitter sweet days, she will keep in her heart and mind
The perfect man for her she will deny
A kiss she knew by heart for a moment long gone, was not.
