The Light I'M Blinded To See! ! - Poem by Shalia Robinson

'The light' where is it?
Almost like me being in a well with no life left
Just there to sit
In the dark filthy pits
To slowly fade away
To where my very being is extinct I can say
Because I was poisoned
With a thick liquid that put me asleep
Then soon left me sick
I'm trying to pull myself up the rocks in the well
But I keep slipping I know you can tell
I try to put up a fight
Til I am drained with no sight
Until I am insane
I am grasping for that light
But as I look up the well is beginning to be closed
Alone me and other souls
The souls that was lost
And now wants me to began to pay the cost
Just of why they couldn't become the boss
Why do I feel lost in the sauce?
And feeling like I am so far I can't get involved.
I'm sitting here pushing my way when I dont even know if I'm going to make it through to say
I pass! !
I made it!
Without any hesitation.
I want to be that strong woman with sensation
To have that desire to go on
But im starting to want to give up because it seems so hard and like a ton
My light come back to me!
So I can began to see
Because I know you were once with thee.
And probably still with me
All I have to do is walk in the process so I can be.
But how can I continue when I'm so lost
And being tossed around
And bounced on the hard hot ground.
I have drifted away but I choose to be close to you
So I can sleep so close I hear and see your view
