The Littlest Ego - Poem by gordon nosworthy

teensy wings tremble
flutter flutter flutter
poor little faint ego
carries a heart full of stutter

a diminutive humming bit
twittering tip to flower tip
desperately nursing syrup
seeking power to sip

beautiful substantial vista
trees the sun the vast blue sky
so pacific and so natal so
temperament of an imbalanced eye

ena mena mona mite
bascalora bora bite
eggs butter cheese bread
stick stock stone dead

flutter flutter flutter
against the hot hot sun
drops of melting feather mean
fluttering days are soon done

down ego go
flutter flutter flutter
the timeless wonder
of a meaningless big top show
