The New Figure - Poem by Sulaimon Afolabi Banjoko

Looking ahead of time as its passes by
From a beginning to an end
With the good and bad we have done
Thinking back of time, recalling and realizing
The achievements at hand
And the achievement out off hand
Counting the ages of age, Growing too fast
Looking at the health fitness
Thinking of the good or bad to do with
Fetching out your way forward
Now the figure coming to an end
Making promises and wishes,
The changes in you, The changes out off you
Of what to do or what to become
The moment of fear, The moment of happiness
Passing over to the next figure
Throwing out the old resolution
And bringing in the new resolution
It's the time of sharing loving among each other
Exchanging gift between each other
Asking of forgiveness of sins
To be renewed to the new figure
And now we all say, it is not how far but how well

Happy New Figure, Happy New Resolution,
Happy New Commitment
It only figure that changes, but we remain who we are in the presence of God

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
