The Pendulum Poem by sania harris

The Pendulum

Returning home every day
All I see is hell broken in my way
Shattered glass all thrown aside
Drenched floors like someone cried
Papers and books, thrown around
I look at my house and frown!

Mom and dad are screaming
Not bothering that I am hearing
They don’t see me near
The don’t see me here
That’s when I get hold of my fist
Take a blade and slowly slit!

When things cool down bit by bit
They see me bleeding and later admit
That they were wrong and it won’t recur
Promising that again, it won’t occur

Everything is fine until the next day
When the pendulum sway back the same way
Shattered glass all thrown aside
Drenched floors like someone cried
Papers and books, thrown around
I look at my house and frown!

Again a blade slits my wrist
Wondering why I merely exist
The pendulum sways over again
Till my heart is out of blood and pain
It’ll sway till I’m stabbed with a gore
Until they see me, dead on the floor
