The Perfect Woman......./3 Poem by Lauren Secret

The Perfect Woman......./3

I look around me all the time,
And i admit seeing those pictures made me shy,
You see the posters upon the walls,
Silently inside you, you feel the tear falls.

You look at yourself and know you cannot compare,
To that look in her eyes, that icy stare.
You build up your own worries and hate yourself,
As you dont look like the women on the magazine shelf.

I am fed up of seeing the perfect blonde,
And how in the hell are women meant to respond?
Comparison, insecurities and hate.
These type of images make me irate.

There is not such thing as a perfect woman,
There is no perfect shape.
Some women big, some women small,
Some women short and many very tall.

I am only young and what do i see,
Women showing me what i am meant to be.
I know i won't look like them,
However hard i try from am to pm.

I guess we have got to face the fact.
advertisements will cause a negative impact.
But come on girls we all know,
We wont look like women from the catwalk show.
The pictures in magazines are air brushed and fake,
So we do not need to cause ourselves such heartache.

So love who you are,
You are your own star.
And lets be beautifully imperfect all together.

I liked this but it does raise the question why do men not feel the same way about how men are portrayed in magazines. it matters not how many times I see Beckham stripped to the waist or Geroge Clooneys smile I know i have no chance of replicating either so do not worry about it.Why are women so obsessed with what they think men want, the fashion industry is all about hype which is then fed off by those with a vested interest in making women think they have to be a size ten or whatever to be attractive, as you say let's be imperfect smiffy
