The Prayer Of The Dove Poem by Nicole Pearson

The Prayer Of The Dove

Lord
I have been on this ark
for more than half my life
I never seen a park
Never had a wife
Lord
I wish to be free
To glide through the air
Please let this be
I don't think it's fair
Lord
I beg you
Let me off this boat
I wish to see something new
Than the back of a goat
Lord
Let me be the first
To fetch at least an olive leaf
I fear my mind will burst
For I am full of grief
Lord
