The Quiet Woods - Poem by Carolyn RellingSurrisi
Are the woods quiet where he left you?
Does the sun ever shine on your face?
Is it dark? You are so afraid of the dark.
I would give everything to be able to hold you and let you know you are safe.
I pray that the pain is over. I pray that you aren’t alone
I pray that God will bring you home to me
I pray that you know how hard I’ve tried to find you
I pray that you will forgive me for telling you that there were no such things as monsters.
I’m so sorry I lied to you. I’m so sorry.
