The Robin’s Song Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

The Robin’s Song

Rating: 4.3

Today I was captivated by a singing bird
High on a leafing tree branch so remote
Until this moment, I never really heard
The delightful notes from its gilded throat

Why today, did the Robin decide to entertain?
It is usually busy searching for tasty worms…
Or splashing in the sprinkler’s cool swaying rain
Staying at a comfortable distance on its own terms

Today your lovely melody gave me a smile
You did not fly away when I came closer to hear
You serenely continued to cheerfully beguile
Your beautiful solo gave peace to the atmosphere
