The Sea - Poem by Harita Mohan

What is it like
the sea air, calm and crispy
the waves, coming and going
the wind, soothing and refreshing
all in my imagination
For i have not seen the sea

Would i ever know
the shell, sharp and bright
thye scattering turtles
tiny and infinite
the water lapping on my toe
cool, making shivers on me

the sun, so shiny and warm
like a mothers lap
the sand, smooth and
sticking on my soul
Is the sea so beautiful as seen in
drawings, pictures and what else

I have visited sea many times
all in my dreams
She appears as something
unreachable and magnificient
I want to reach her
shores so badly

Proud like a queen
she beckons me
welcoming to her depths
For what secrets she may hold
It's like i have been transported
magically to her

Did the pictures i saw
gave any justice to her beauty
Was my imagination, a worthless fragment
infront of her endless waves
Would i ever ever reach my dream
i sinncerely hope soo....
