The Second Death Poem by Adrian Taheny

The Second Death

Why don’t they come anymore?
Why don’t they stop and pray?
Why don't they remember,
That I’m still here each day.

This earthly bed my prison,
This home for ever more.
This yearning for a visit
A thought, a word, no more.

You said you won’t forget me
You'd keep me in your prayers.
Your time at last is over
And others shed the tears,

To part is soul destroying,
'tis sad, you think and yet,
That I'm now alone forever,
It is the Second Death.
