The Ten Protectors Of Perfection - Poem by Macklin MacKenzie

Imagination, the immature immortal, prevents me from seeing what is real, I will live in lies
Love, the unforgiving animal, will never release me from its grasp, I can only hope for its death
Happiness, the false lover, has tricked me for so long, I won't escape its warm embrace
Sadness, the dark beauty, prevents me fom truly living, I will drown beneath its tide
Anger, the biased judge, clouds my better judgment, I will be consumed from within
Confusion, the twisted guardian, keeps me in my current state of being, I will run in circles until the end of time
Hatred, the violent seductress, obscures growth from my mind, I will live with her behind me
Hope, the dishonest angel, keeps me going even in death, I will be led to my own despair
Faith, the deceptive creator, makes me believe there is a reason to live, I will follow it wherever I go
Emotion, the pathetic child, holds greatness out of reach, I can not grasp perfection
