The United States A Living Country Sustained By The Blood Of Immigrants - Poem by Dimitri Jagodinski

We live in a living country
Whose life is sustained by our blood
The blood of immigrants from around the world
Who envisioned a better life than the country they were born in
Who came to America to follow their dreams of freedom
We live in a country of freedom
Whose life is sustained by our blood
The blood of immigrants from around the world
Who created a constitution to protect our rights
So we can follow our dreams
And watch a dream become reality
We live in a changing country
Whose life is sustained by our blood
The blood of immigrants from around the world
Who votes for a government that evolves
So that all are welcome to our country
So all can follow dreams of freedom and equality
Free of oppression
We live in a country that has a heart and soul
Whose life is sustained by our blood
The blood of immigrants from around the world
Who believe that peace is real and we can all coexist
If given the chance
We live in a country created by God
For no other country in the world
Is sustained by the blood of immigrants from around the world
