The Voyage - Poem by Herbert Nehrlich 2
The voyage was eleven days
an education in some ways.
I've never done a better trip,
you were the beauty of the ship.
But, as of now, I have not seen
(though do not say I am not keen) ,
if time has aged you like fine wine
(I know this is a dubious line) .
Between the lines I read of course
(in braille, in Arabic or Morse)
that all your loveliness remains
(think of the wisdom someone gains
I ask ye gods to grant my wish
(I'd gladly play explorer fish)
here's hoping that we meet again
be well and happy until then.
