The Way Of Kings And Lords Poem by Tim Vallie

The Way Of Kings And Lords

Clash of shield, breaking bone
The War Lord sits upon his throne
He ordered the war, but will not fight
The poor do this, to his delight
Steel costs gold, but flesh is cheap
Let young men die, while gold he shall reap
This is the way of Kings and Lords
Who wield the power, yet not the swords
Steel is expensive, but flesh is cheap
Make my coffers fill, let the mothers weep
This is the way of Kings and Lords
To whom war means gold, not death and swords
Let young men die, let mothers weep
Steel is expensive, but death is cheap
