Things To Share - Poem by Michael P. McParland
So many things I hold inside and
am dying to tell you because I don't
want to hide a thing from my lady and Angel
I love so very much.
I want to share them with you because I want to
and it's physically and mentally painful
to keep holding all of it in.
I need to look in your eyes and share these
many many things both big and small.
Are you ready and will you fully listen?
So many parts will be hard to tell and
as painful for me to relive,
I'm sure it will be as painful for you
to hear what I felt and faced
in so many ways.
There will be happy too and I need to pour it out
and give you my all showing everything in my soul.
Such things of depth and lightness to share and tell,
the burden of carrying it all alone for so long
the weight is dragging me down to the ground.
Will you help me up and hold me close for awhile?
I'll do the same for you because I know there's
so very much pain and happiness you've been carrying too.
We need release of these weight baring loads that we've
towed around by ourselves for so long.
It's time to entrust one another telling everything that we carry,
releasing ourselves in true trusting loving fashion.
So much to tell and all the time in the world for us.
I need to release and I know you do too,
I'm bursting at the seams to give you all of myself
releasing everything behind my steep and thick
walls of life long defense.
I'm ready and want to let you in.
Are you willing to step through
and also share the same things too?
So much to tell and so much to release,
I love you sweet lady and in pure faith and loving trust
I turn myself completely over to you.
