Thirst Poem by Ellen Shaw

Thirst

Swimming, drowning, gasping, grasping
wanting, falling into
black pools of anger, rage and hurt
push me further
punish me harder
pin me down and stare me out
onyx, raven, sooty, starless
shooting daggers with your eyes
spitting gravel until you are empty,
spend your rage one me.
