Those Simple Joys Of Life - Poem by Tanmayi Mukundan

Glittering like pretty diamonds
Are the rays on the morning dew
Or the fresh breeze drifting across
The green paddy fields so new
The crackling laughter of a toddler
Or the sparkle in her eyes so bright
Bringing a smile on your soul
Are those simple joys of life!

The reminiscence of a loved one
On hearing a soothing song
Or watching the summer rain
From the window for all day long
Feeling the velvety softness
On a rose petal nearest in sight
Bringing a smile on your soul
Are those simple joys of life!

A dried leaf in a favorite book
Or one of those beautiful butterfly wings
An old hand written birthday card
Or a college pic with friends and siblings
A happy morning wish
Or a sweet kiss of the night
Bringing a smile on your soul
Are those simple joys of life!
