Those Times - Poem by Abraham Ikwu

We always had fights

Where you’d tell me to go to hell

Even encroaching on our rights

Through which everyone we did tell

Yet at night

We would forget all

And beautifully, we’d unite,

To uplift from the fall

I miss those times

While knowing it’s over

As I pour out these lines

Making me feel somber

To reminisce the events

That characterized

Our love tents…

I wish I could have you back

To have, to hold

And never to lack

Like a beautiful tale foretold

With our roles well professed

Then our acts properly directed

Just like a word being stressed

Our foundation was well erected.
