Thread Of A Smile - Poem by Arine M..

A thread that weaves in and out;
The stitch that was pulled too tight,
The stitch that was dropped in haste,
The rope that finally snapped.

In it went through the eye
In the cloth of flesh the silver went,
Out came a curve with ups on its ends
Out came a smile so -

Time that wore her life's work down
Unwounded thread that frayed now at ends
Split, it tore.
There in barest truth now uncloaked
There in brimming emptiness
Where raindrops smile
