Høilig velsignet være Cammermeyer,
Fordi han ægtede min Faders Tante!
I Norges Dæmring har han sat en Plante,
Hvis unge Rodskud vinder Lysets Seier.

Den vaarlig grøne Farve, Træet eier,
Er Solens eget Værk, som ei kan skrante;
Dets dybe Rødder vise sig bastante
Mod Politikens Plov og alskens 'Greier,'

Et Chor af Alfer, smykkede med Krandse,
Til Fjeldet drager fra de lave Sletter,
For hist omkring det unge Træ at dandse.

Hvor Poesiens Lys de lange Nætter
Forjog, der vil min Alfeskare standse,
Og mindes stolt, at Træet er dens Fætter.
