Time To Say Bye Poem by Starrbox Munoz

Time To Say Bye

Only fools rush in they say
Yet here I am finding myself quick at trying to replace my former flame
I can play pretend so well that sometimes I forget not to become a pawn in my own game
I thought I'd be able to replace him with you, but that's just not the case
Instead I ended up falling prey to your charming ways
I'd considered completely calling it quits and never speaking to you again
Simply pulling a disappearing act and never coming back
How silly and futile that plan was, it only ended up making me realize that I that which I've denied
That instead of using you as intended, you became my lover, turned into my friend and now became someone I cherish… that guy who I ended up falling for
My eyes are open now, finally seeing things for what they are
I tried in vain to keep from falling for you, but oh how the tables have turned on me
It was fun for a while, but it's time to say bye
Can't make the same mistake twice
