I remember when first we met
two youngsters in teen years
We got along because we had to
but church end began the jeers.
We fought like wild animals faithfully
every Sunday at the same time
Then things changed-we matured
and friendship was our find.
As an escort for my prom
you kindly stepped in
And when my family name was smeared
you came to my defense.
You went away and did your thing:
married, bore two kids
I remained a single woman working with teens
fifteen years-voluntary service is my current bid.
Now, you've returned unexpectedly
and an updat that shocks:
Divorce what, when, how and why
my questions are now locked.
You've been my friend thru thick and thin
and I the same for you
Yet this time, I find myself more happy than sad
This may be our second bell
Will we be more~
only time will tell.
